Hammy's Food Trip: Chili's

My mother was here in Manila last weekend that my brother decided to eat out. They decide to have dinner at Chili's and so off we go to their T. Morato branch.

This is the first time I'm going to experience eating at Chili's so I brought Dietrich with me and tried taking pictures of the place and the food. I will try to check if I have the ability to do food blogging like Gepay.

We first tried their Soup of the Day. It was a mix of seafoods with a bit of potatoes as extender served with crackers. I was hesitant to try it because I do not usually eat seafood but this one was good.
The next thing that was served was Wings over Buffalo served with bleu cheese dressing. Since this is Chili's I thought that every food that is served is spicy hot. I am afraid to try it out since I have a low tolerance for spicy food. The chicken is somehow spicy but it was manageable and then it leaves a tangy taste in your mouth.
Our main dish were Country-Fried Steak served with mashed potatoes, sweet corn on the cob and garlic toast, and Fish Fillet served with fries and sweet corn on the cob. The beef steak was perfect becuase it was soft, tasty and juicy and the sweet corn compliments it as a side dish. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes since I am a rice dependent person and this was the only carbo that I can have in the menu.

The place also featured replicas of airplanes that reminds me of World War II movies with matching man on a classic round parachute.

Over-all the food was great and the place was relaxing. I'll leave you with some of the other pictures I have taken.

I hope this will not be the last of my food related blog.

9th Philippine ToyCon 2010

I just recently got this information regarding the 9th Philippine Toys, Hobbies, and Collectibles Convention 2010. It will happen on June 19-20 (Saturday and Sunday) from 10AM - 10PM and will be held in Megatrade Hall 2-3 and Megamall Event Center in Bldg. A. This event will coincide with 75th Anniversary of DC Comics.

I already heard that Khanto will be attending the the whole weekend event. I know him to be an avid toy collector. Another friend of mine will be attending with his Kamen Rider costume and will be with the other cosplayers that will grace the event.

This event will also feature the autograph signing of Otacool 2 Worldwide Cosplayer. It is a cosplayer book published in Japan featuring Alodia and Ashley Gosiengfiao, Monique Dimanlig and Jessica Ouano. All 4 Philippine cosplayer will be there for the book signing.

I will be there to take photos of the event and costumes that will be featured. I might also check some of the toys that will be exhibited.

You may visit http://www.toyconph.com/ for more details. See you there!

Dietrich's Eyes: My Santacruzan Adventures

It was the last two days of May when I went back to my hometown to fulfill my duties as one of the committee officers of the Mayflower Festival in our parish.

I did not really want to accept the responsibilities because it will consume some of my time because I will be required to attend some of the meetings and it will be difficult for me to travel from Manila to Quezon. But my mother told me that if I refused these responsibilities, I would somehow refuse the Virgin Mary's request. So as a religious person (???) and obedient son I accepted the challenge provided that she (my mom) will attend the meetings since I will not be able to do so.

And so the long wait is over, the Santacruzan is now here. Part of the deal was to attend the procession and grand ball at the town plaza. So here I am who took the night trip to be able to attend the procession. I have decided to bring Dietrich (my Nikon D3000) to take some shots so as to make myself a little useful for the committee.

Here are some of my shots and let me leave some captions for you to enjoy:

This one reminds me of the movie Stardust wherein a young man was able to retrieve a falling star.

This little girl caught my attention during the mass because of the eyeglass she wears. It makes her cute.

A good sister knows how to help her little sister.

This boy shows that even in this outfit, he can be cool.

Waiting for the "sagalas" to finish their "Luwa" or the Praises for the Virgin Mary can be a little bit tiring. I bet no one can blame them for doing this.

This is what I call "grace under the intense heat of the afternoon sun".

They believe that eating and drinking during the procession is not prohibited.

I think this little angel got tired of walking. Good thing daddy's here to the rescue.

It's true that nobody can part from their mobile phones.

This little girl have a lot of confidence. Maybe its in her genes.

This man never failed to take the opportunity to earn from the scorching heat of the sun.

She still have time to pose for the camera.

I think she's tired and sleepy. After this long walk that we're doing, I'm sure she should be.

"Someday, I will be a 'sagala' but for the mean time I'll just play"

There are times that you can't really get all the lines correct, especially if your part is that long. That's where manila paper can be helpful, very helpful.
